Rising Scholars comes to Harbor College

At LAHC, the program will officially be launched in Fall 2025. In this first year, we are maintaining our initial goals of building strong infrastructure, recruiting students, and creating an early support network while continuing to grow the program’s long-term vision. A central part of this effort includes establishing a dedicated program area on campus where Rising Scholars can find a welcoming space that fosters comfort, connection, and belonging. Looking ahead, the Rising Scholars Program will expand to include comprehensive academic and career counseling, peer mentorship, transfer and workforce readiness support, and culturally responsive programming that acknowledges and affirms the lived experiences of justice-impacted students.

To launch the Program, we will host an Ice-Cream Social Open House in collaboration with the Harbor Advantage Program on Thursday, September 25 in the SSA Building Room 115 & 219 including a hub tour.
